Inside the Railroad Depot


These are photographs inside the railroad depot taken over a period of 8 years. Everything is gone now. Just used for storage at this point. The BLM did have a new roof put on the depot in 2009 to help stop some of the deterioration of the building. As you look at these photographs, step back into time and imagine the people that walked through the doors to a new life in Rhyolite.

We are standing inside the ticket office.
You can just see the hallway outside the door.

Inside the Ticket Masters Office
Was used for storge at one point
Everthing is now gone.

This is an office in the far back of the Depot.
Added on by later residents

Gentlemens Waiting Room
The small window leads into the
Ticket Masters Office.

Ready to go upstairs?
These are the original stairs and banisters

Climb slowley now, take your time
They creak when you walk on them.

We made it to the top landing.
Now which way to go?

This is the room that leads to the Balcony
Was also used in a John Wayne Movie
